My favorite thing to do is pick out a really good outfit for Saturday or Sunday (when I have more time to try things on and hem and haw over what's cutest) and then wear it again on Monday or Tuesday!! Copy/paste dressing!
MORE copy paste dressing!!! if it works and you feel comfortable WEAR IT AGAIN!! Great breakdown of the consequences of fast fashion on our long term wadrobes.
I have an Alex Mill cardigan (Nico in navy) that I wear all the time. With jeans. Over a dress. Over a jumpsuit. It works with many parts of my wardrobe and it feels good on. I have a joke with a friend - “I have more clothes than this!” - but honestly would rather have outfit repeat than have a closet of clothes I don’t wear/don’t feel good in.
I had such an aha moment yesterday when a friend showed up to an event wearing a shirt I know I've seen her wear before. It was a really pretty shirt, and all I noted was that it was familiar. Not like, any sort of "oh, she wore that to brunch last month..." and it made me realize HOW SILLY I can be around thinking "oh I can't wear that dress to the luncheon and the graduation because people will remember it. NOBODY will remember it and if they do, they might think of it for an entire two seconds. Literally the only person who cares when I repeat outfits is me, doh!
Truly! I love riffing on a combo and watching it evolve. Ie I’ve been wearing this sock/shoe combo on repeat, and it’s fun seeing how many ways I can take the same thing and make it new again
I think of this as what my cartoon character would be wearing. There’s great pleasure in looking back over the years and identifying what that was during any given era
This shift has been so helpful for me! I spent way too much time, money, and brain space trying to ~find my style~ when I already had a distinct point of view. Longevity > novelty!
I also had exactly four pairs of pants that were (just barely) long enough in sixth grade. If only I'd known to go to western wear stores and buy Wrangler's 36 inch inseams back then!!

Yes!! I'm a proud outfit repeater. (And tbh I don't take style advice from people who aren't.)

I love this and so true
By the same token, almost nobody notices when I have a bad hair day; they're all too busy fretting over their own hair. FREEDOM.

If someone was keeping that close of an eye on what I was wearing, I would think stalker, unhealthy obsessive person.
